Pet Selfie for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home

The dogs have decided that they want to jump on the selfie for charity bandwagon to help raise money for Battersea Dogs and Cats home (whilst also showing how cute they are)! So I let them take over my iPhone for a couple of minutes, and here are their #petselfies ...

Whilst Poppy and Kitty posed prettily for the camera, Panda didn't move her paw out of the way in time, and Teddy's definitely giving Miley Cyrus a run for her money with that bad ass tongue!! After we'd taken these gorgeous pics, I text DOGS to 70800 for them, due to their lack of opposable thumbs making it pretty difficult for them to type, and their lack of J O B making it difficult for them to pay! If you'd also like to help to raise money for this amazing charity, take a cute selfie of your pet/s and then text DOGS to 70800 to make a donation of £5.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to the best human mum and the best doggy mum in the world - you are both so special!!

Poppy has been an amazing mum to her puppies since the moment they were born. A lot of people say that the mum dog gets tired of her puppies after a while; however, with Kitty at just over 3 months old, she is still a doting mum. They cuddle and play together every day, and it's so lovely to see how much they love each other!

Easter's come early!

We bought the dogs new toys today as early easter presents (as if they didn't have enough already)! They all got very excited, and ran off to play with them.

Panda sat proudly on the sofa showing her pink bunny rabbit off, daring the other dogs to try to steal it.

Teddy de-clothed his little lamb within seconds, he certainly doesn't waste any time... I think we all know how Poppys' puppies got here!!

Poppy took a more gentle approach and laid down for a cuddle with her duck... then bit its head off.

And finally, Kitty acted as though she hasn't quite yet grasped the concept of how to play with toys, as she just sat on hers, looking pretty!

The dogs now have more toys than they know what to do with, but I'm sure they'll all be unrecognisable by the morning and we'll have to go to buy them some new ones...

Toilet Training Troubles

Now that we only have one puppy to focus on, we have been trying our hardest to get Kitty toilet trained. Especially seeing as she has developed a habit of doing an 'excited wee' every time we come in!

On top of that, she seems to look at the puppy pads as a comfy place to chill out rather than a place to pee. Teddy is rather confused too, as he thought they were supposed to pee outside, not on a pad in the kitchen!

After a long weekend of trying to get Kitty to pee on the pad, she decided that this toilet training business was too tiring, so she'd better snuggle up on her cool new bed and have a little nap!

Kitty's first walk!

Evie went to her new home this weekend, and although we are all missing her a lot, she is settling in with Tina amazingly! To keep everyone occupied, we decided to take Kitty on her first walk. As it has not quite been a week since her second injection, we carried her for most of it. She was definitely living up to the cockapoo reputation of being a designer dog in my Ted Baker bag!

The big dogs loved wearing their new Puppia harnesses and lead. However, Teddy had bit up his lead in the 20 seconds between putting it on him and going to open the front door, so he had to wear one of the old ones! If you'd like to buy a Puppia harness and lead, we got ours at: www.k9kit.com

Kitty was so well-behaved and enjoyed being carried around and taking in all of the new experiences.

On the way home, we let her have a little walk along the pavement. She was so cute, running proudly alongside her mum (who at 11 weeks old, she is almost as big as)!

Susie (Boris' new mummy), said that someone once told her that each time you take a dog on a new walk, for them it is like reading a new book. I think this is so lovely, and Kitty definitely enjoyed her 'first book' this weekend.

Panda's Birthday Beach Trip

As the sun has been out this weekend, we thought it'd be a great time to take the dogs to Herne Bay beach. We haven't been for a while, so the dogs were very excited when we put them in the car. They slept on the back seats for the first part of the journey; however, once we got off of the motorway, they started creeping into the front one by one, until before I knew it, I had 3 cockapoos on my lap!

When we arrived, it was more of a muddy marsh than a sandy beach, but the dogs absolutely LOVED it!

By the time we left, everyone looked like mud monsters (humans included), so there was a lot of showering needed when we got home!

Am I an Andrex puppy?

This week Kitty and Evie have been having more adventures around the house; and Kitty has developed a fascination with toilet rolls! She loves to steal them, parade them proudly around the living room, and then tries to eat them. I think she's been watching too many Andrex adverts on TV!

Meanwhile, Evie has been challenging her auntie Panda to staring competitions. My money is definitely on Panda!

The big dogs have been enjoying the sunny weather this week, whilst the puppies look on from the kitchen door as they are not allowed outside until their second vaccination has had time to kick in. Poppy and Teddy have been trying to encourage the puppies to explore the garden with with them to no avail; so eventually, Poppy got fed up, stuck her tongue out at them, and went off to play without them!

Back to see our favourite vet

Yesterday, we took Evie & Kitty to get their second vaccination. They were both so chilled out and not at all phased by the vaccination.

Poppy absolutely loves our vet, Kfir, and I think the feeling is mutual. She was so excited to see him and have a big cuddle!

Kitty is a little flirt like her mum, and was so excited to see Kfir when we got there that a little pee came out! When he left the room to get some flea & worming tablets, she couldn't wait for him to get back, and greeted him with a very waggy tail when he did. They are such happy, friendly little dogs and we are so proud.

Happy 5th Birthday Panda!

Our pretty little Panda turned 5 years old yesterday!! When we picked her up from Derbyshire at 6 weeks old, she was so, so tiny; and I had, let's call it, interesting hair! She was mainly white with black markings around her eyes so we decided to call her Panda! She loved playing with her big sister Poppy, even if initially Poppy wasn't too keen!

Almost 5 years later, she isn't so tiny and doesn't look much like a Panda anymore! As well as Poppy, she now has another brother and sister to play with, and we couldn't imagine our lives without her (I'd also like to think I have better hair than 5 years ago)! Panda enjoyed a birthday walk yesterday with Poppy & Teddy, but we have delayed her big birthday celebrations until next weekend, when we're going to go to the beach with Kitty for the first time!

There's no place like home

Now that we only have 2 of the puppies at home, it is a lot quieter in our house!! Kitty & Evie seem a lot more chilled out and are actually sometimes weeing on the cardboard we put down for them, so the kitchen floor is looking less like a swimming pool! With the wee risk minimized, Evie & Kitty have been coming into the living room with us & the other dogs.

The first time we let them in, the well behaved Evie tip toed around, whilst Kitty charged straight in, headed for the dogs' toy box, stole one, then ran back into the kitchen and hid it in her bed!! When Poppy confronted her about how the pink bunny got in her bed, she laid on the floor and pretended to be asleep! I'm not sure she bought it!

Both Kitty & Evie love playing with Panda & Teddy, until the fun police (Poppy) decides they've had enough fun for one evening, and jumps in the middle to intervene.

As well as stealing toys, and playing with the older dogs; Kitty and Evie are making themselves at home lounging around the house. Kitty has found a new favourite chill out place - on the stairs with her mum & auntie Panda.

As the puppies have been enjoying hanging out around the house so much, they tried to bite up my staff pass tonight so I could stay at home to have fun with them tomorrow! Nice try puppies!

All of this playing, and chewing up must have been tiring, as the puppies snuggled up and fell asleep in my bed!

Introducing the new cockapoo mummies and daddies

Now that the puppies are just over 8 weeks old, they have started going to their new homes this weekend. We have found amazing homes for all of them and they have loved meeting their new mummies and daddies over the past couple of weeks. Letting them go is so, so difficult, and there have been a lot of emotional goodbyes over the past couple of days; however, we know each and every one of them is going to be so loved and we will definitely be keeping in contact with all of their lovely families. So, now that they have gone off to their new homes, it's time to introduce the cockapoos, who finally have names, with their new families...

JAMIE
The ginger boy, now called Jamie, was the first to leave on Friday morning. Jamie went all the way to Scotland to live with his new mummy Isabel & his doggy brother Dylan next to a beautiful loch. Isabel's daughter Carolyn & her husband Mike came to meet the puppies a couple of weeks ago, and then drove Jamie all the way to Scotland on Friday, where his new mummy was very excited to meet him. Here is Jamie cuddling up to Carolyn & Mike when they came to meet him, and then enjoying a big cuddle with his new brother Dylan in Dylan's bed! Looks like he's made himself at home already - I think Jamie is going to be a very happy boy!

SUNNY
The big black girl was next to leave for her new home on Saturday morning. She has gone to live with her new mummy & daddy: Joss & Dave and their family in North London. They are looking forward to taking her on long walks, which I'm sure she'll love. After a lot of discussion, they have decided to name her 'Sunny', so she is no longer going to have to live with being called 'big black girl'! Here is a picture of Sunny with her new family when they came to collect her on Saturday, and then playing with her sister Zoe in her new home.

BORIS
The black and tan boy, now named Boris, met Susie and her lovely family on Friday evening; however, the children had no idea they were going to be getting Boris. We dropped Boris off at his new home on Saturday afternoon as a surprise for Susie's children, they were over the moon and are looking forward to taking him to agility classes. Before they went to bed on Saturday night, Susie's son said 'now I FINALLY  know what it's like to be a daddy' - how adorable is that?! Boris is a lucky boy.

EVIE
The small black girl with white feet, has been named Evie by her new mummy Tina. We have Evie for an extra 2 weeks as Tina is on holiday. Evie will be going to live in Worcestershire, very near to my boyfriend's mum so we will hopefully be going on some weekend walks with her. When Tina came to meet Evie, she brought her friend Lesley. We invited them into the living room (to meet the older dogs first), and whilst Poppy, Panda and Teddy were running around excitedly, Lesley said that she was taken aback by how big the puppies are, assuming that as we have so many dogs, they must be the puppies!! We definitely are the Crazy Cockapoo people! Here is Tina having a cuddle with her actual puppy Evie.

KITTY
And finally, introducing Kitty, the latest addition to our own Cockapoo Crazy family. This brings our total to 4 Cockapoos, what would Lesley think now?! Here are some pictures of our beautiful little girl, making herself very at home, on her big move from the kitchen, to the rest of the house!!
