Pupdate

First of all, sorry it's been a little quiet over here recently, we've been super busy and there have been some exciting things going on with Jade Green Vegan that I can't wait to share with you soon!

So here's a little update, or pupdate (too cool!) of what's been going on!

1) Teddy had his big boy operation to ensure we don't end up with any more little blessings! He looked super cute rocking his inflatable collar for a few days and thankfully made a really speedy recovery.

On the first night when he came back from the vet he was really docile and sleepy; all of the girls were so gentle with him and Kitty kept trying to kiss him better.

By the next day he was back to his crazy self and keeping him chilled out for 10 days whilst he recovered was pretty hard! Since the operation, he has adopted a lot of girly traits; he now cries with excitement on the way to the park like Poppy & Panda, and is always wanting a cuddle!

2) Kitty's obsession with healthy eating has expanded from carrots into any kind of fruit & veg! She's becoming a regular star on the Jade Green Instagram as the resident healthy pooch!

3) After taking a break from running for a couple of months, last Sunday Teddy and I went for an early (well early for a weekend) morning run. I forgot how much I'd missed running along the river in the morning breeze with Ted; it makes me feel so energised and is the perfect start to the day.






































4) A little while ago we received an awesome letter from Jamie, the puppy who now lives in Scotland, telling us all about his life with his new mummy and best pal Dillon.

Jamie is the only puppy we haven't seen since he went to his new home as he lives so far away; so receiving this letter and the enclosed pictures meant so much to us. I found the letter when having a little tidy up tonight and Kitty and I decided to write Jamie a reply! Considering her lack of opposable thumbs, she did pretty well. Look at her looking all proud with herself - what a cutie!

Pampered pets at home + some exciting news

Last night, my mum and I made a trip to Pets at Homes to buy the dogs some kongs... An hour later and we emerged with this stash!!

For some reason, we decided that the beginning of summer was a great time to buy the dogs fleeced rain coats (how cute do they look though?!)

My mum also decided that Kitty had to have this little sun hat, as she's only a baby and she sometimes squints when the sun is in her eyes... Well, I can tell you that the hat has definitely been doing a great job of stopping the sun from getting in her eyes... in our house ;).

In other non-doggy-fashion related news, I have something very exciting to share. I have decided to become vegan due to the amazing health benefits and of course my love for animals. What's even more exciting for me is that I have started a blog about it here. Whilst the main focus of the blog is all things vegan, of course I have found a way to work my dogs into it, as I always do!

So far Poppy has featured in my post about my first cookie baking session (this was a crazy experience for her, as in the 6 years we've lived together, she has never seen me bake)!

Thank you Argos Animal Sanctuary!!

Back in December, Poppy, Panda & Teddy came 3rd place in a Christmas Photo Competition on the Poodle Doodle Do Facebook page. Our kindly donated prize arrived last week all the way from the Argos Animal Sanctury in Cyprus. Thank you, I love it!

Teddy, our rescue Cockapoo, got jealous when I tried the Argos T-Shirt on, and wanted to give it a go... I hate to say it, but I think he would win if there were to be a 'Who wore it better?' competition!

The puppies have had an amazing start in life; however, we know that not all dogs are so lucky. We therefore wanted to support this amazing charity; so we made a donation & the angels with paws have requested to sponsor one of the Argos Sanctury dogs: Mavrou, for a year. We look forward to hearing about her progress, and hope she finds a great home soon! 

Pups à Paris

This weekend, Matt & I went to Disneyland Paris for Valentine's Day. I missed the dogs & puppies lots but we met some adorable dogs on our journey...


Whilst waiting for the TGV at Lille, we met these gorgeous french dogs. This labrador and golden retreiver are assistant dogs in training. They were very well behaved, and absolutely loved having lots of cuddles and kisses from Matt and me.

Paris was amazing, but it was so nice to get home and see all of the dogs on Sunday. The puppies were very pleased to see us, and were curious to meet the Minnie Mouse we brought home. After discovering that the Minnie wouldn't play with her, the ginger girl Puppy quickly got bored and decided to go to sleep.

Poppy, Panda and Teddy loved dressing up in the disney hats and head bands we brought home and made the cutest Minnies and Mickey!

Happy Valentines day!!

The inspiration for my blog came from one of my favourite quotes: 'dogs are angels with paws' as this is what my dogs are to me. They love you unconditionally, are intensely loyal & can always cheer you up with a cuddle. Having one dog to share your life with is a blessing, and we are lucky enough to have 8 little buggers blessings at the moment!!

Being the loser that I am, when I saw this card in the shop, I couldn't resist getting it for our Cockapoos! The girl in the shop gave me a disapproving look as I paid for my 3 valentine's cards; I decided explaining one was for my mum, one for my 8 dogs, and (shockingly!) one for my boyfriend would only make the situation more embarrassing, so just smiled awkwardly at her.

The puppies wanted to celebrate their first Valentines Day with a love themed photo shoot...

First, they gave me me their cutest puppy dog eyes...

Then, these 2 cuties snuggled up for a cuddle...

This single puppy decided to eat the valentines napkin as a screw you valentines day gesture

Save Rainbow Ark Animal Sanctuary

When browsing the daily mail on my lunch break today for my daily celebrity gossip fix, I came across something a lot more worthwhile reading than an article about which celebrity recently got a haircut. I found this extremely upsetting article about Rainbow Ark Animal Sanctuary:

The owner of the Sanctuary, Paula, has dedicated her life to rescuing and caring for animals, only to have her home and animal sanctuary taken away from her by bailiffs. I immediately started to think of ways we could help her and the animals who are now in desperate need of a place to live. The puppies decided to put their thinking hats on to help us come up with ideas of how to fundraise.

On checking her Sanctuary's website when I got home from work, I was moved to tears when I saw what all of the kind animal lovers out there had already achieved in 1 day. As at the time of writing this post, over £25,000 has been raised for the charity! How amazing is that?! We immediately got involved and made a donation to help this inspirational woman save her Animal Sanctuary, and if you would like to help too, here's where you can donate:
