Puppy paw prints on my heart

With the first puppy leaving tomorrow morning, I am feeling a little nostalgic. It has been a challenging but amazing 2 months, and my mum & I have loved every part of watching these beautiful puppies develop from tiny little bundles of fur, into cheeky, playful & loving little dogs. My mum and Poppy have both done an amazing job of caring for the puppies, and I am so proud of both of them. I have really enjoyed documenting our time with the puppies on this blog, and it has been amazing to receive such lovely feedback from people about how much they have enjoyed reading it. I initially expected it would just be my family and me who read it (mainly me to be honest); however, the response has been incredible. So, although I intend to continue blogging about the dogs and puppies, here is the last blog post about the puppies whilst they are all still with us...

When the puppies heard that my blog about them had reached almost 4,000 views in the 2 months since they were born, they decided they had to check it out to make sure I hadn't been embarrassing them! The ginger puppy seemed happy enough; however, after scrolling through, the little black puppy did not appear to be too impressed! Oh well, you win some, you lose some!

Looking back at old posts and pictures, I can't believe how much they've grown. As a basis for comparison, I tried to recreate the picture I took of the blonde boy when he was only a couple of days old now that he is just over 8 weeks old! He can barely even fit in 2 hands now, let alone 1 - what a difference a few weeks make!

Watching the puppies grow up has been an incredible experience, and I feel so very lucky to have experienced it. Each and every one of my 'angels with paws' have left a permanent paw print on my heart.

Visiting our own Doctor Doolittle

Yesterday the puppies went on an adventure to the vets for their first vaccination and to get a general health check. Transporting them proved to be a big challenge! We decided the easiest way to do it was to put them all in a crate on the front seat. They slept on the motorway; however, when we got to the side roads, a couple of them started howling and one of them had a little car sickness all over her brother! Once we eventually got them into the vet, they were very pleased to meet Poppy's favourite vet: Kfir (as you can see by the blur of the ginger girl's waggy tail)! They were all very well behaved when being examined, and not one of them cried when they had their injection! Our vet confirmed that they are perfectly healthy, happy & sociable puppies - we are so proud!

Kfir told us to keep a close eye on them for the next 24 hours to ensure none of them has a bad reaction to the vaccination. Luckily, when we got home, they all seemed completely un-phased, as if nothing had happened. They had their crazy half hour where they ran around playing, then ate their dinner as usual without even noticing the worming tablets we added in. The ginger girl even seemed up for a late night Kardashathon (watching KUWTK  episodes back to back) with me!!

Finally, they all snuggled down in their bed, for one of their last night's sleep all together as a litter. I can't believe they are 8 weeks old already and will soon be going off to their new homes! We have had such an amazing time with them and it is going to be so, so hard to say goodbye; however, we know they are all going to amazing homes.

Pub pooch

Earlier this week, my mum & Poppy took a well deserved break from looking after the puppies to come to meet me for lunch. Poppy was not very happy about sitting in her own seat on the train, but posed for this cute pic nonetheless, before jumping back onto my mum's lap!

We went to The George pub on Fleet Street who were very happy to welcome a doggy customer!

Poppy was given her own mug of water, and then a sausage for main course which she thoroughly enjoyed for all of 5 seconds! She even enjoyed helping my mum out with her glass of wine for desert!

The food was great, and the staff were very welcoming! We would definitely go back to The George with the dogs.

Pretty Poo Photoshoot

Before the puppies go off to their new homes in the next couple of weeks, we wanted to get a photo of them all together with their mum, dad and auntie too. This proved to be a lot more difficult a task than we had anticipated. After what seemed like hours of wearing them out, my mum & Matt trying to make them sit on the white sheet, whilst I had many failed photo attempts, we finally got some shots of them all together, even if the puppies do all blend in with each other and Teddy looks ready to bolt any second!

Here is one of the only ones we got of them all together, Teddy is looking at my mum as if to say 'Please, can I go now?!'

We managed to get a family shot of the proud mummy & daddy with their 5 gorgeous puppies.

After a while, Teddy got pretty bored & the black puppies all started to merge into one big puppy...

...So we decided to give the big dogs a break and just take some of the now very sleepy puppies!

The little black puppy thought she'd get in the middle of the blonde puppies who were looking like book ends!

The blonde girl puppy gave me her best puppy dog eyes before falling asleep.

The black & tan boy and the black & white girl cuddled up to each other for this cute picture.

And finally, the excitement all got too much for the ginger boy, who fell asleep looking like one of the Andrex puppies!

Thank you Argos Animal Sanctuary!!

Back in December, Poppy, Panda & Teddy came 3rd place in a Christmas Photo Competition on the Poodle Doodle Do Facebook page. Our kindly donated prize arrived last week all the way from the Argos Animal Sanctury in Cyprus. Thank you, I love it!

Teddy, our rescue Cockapoo, got jealous when I tried the Argos T-Shirt on, and wanted to give it a go... I hate to say it, but I think he would win if there were to be a 'Who wore it better?' competition!

The puppies have had an amazing start in life; however, we know that not all dogs are so lucky. We therefore wanted to support this amazing charity; so we made a donation & the angels with paws have requested to sponsor one of the Argos Sanctury dogs: Mavrou, for a year. We look forward to hearing about her progress, and hope she finds a great home soon!

Cockapoo Carrot Time!

To help the puppies with their teething (and give our clothes a break!), we have recently introduced Carrot Time!
The puppies absolutely LOVE it!!

The little black puppy licks hers...

The blonde boy nibbles on his...

The big black girl parades hers around the kitchen...

The black & tan puppy chases his runaway carrot...

The ginger girl is clearly feeling cheeky with hers...

And Mummy Poppy likes to steal the puppies' carrots and pretend to smoke them like a cigar!

Poppy & the blonde boy would like more carrots please!!

Pups à Paris

This weekend, Matt & I went to Disneyland Paris for Valentine's Day. I missed the dogs & puppies lots but we met some adorable dogs on our journey...

Whilst waiting for the TGV at Lille, we met these gorgeous french dogs. This labrador and golden retreiver are assistant dogs in training. They were very well behaved, and absolutely loved having lots of cuddles and kisses from Matt and me.

Paris was amazing, but it was so nice to get home and see all of the dogs on Sunday. The puppies were very pleased to see us, and were curious to meet the Minnie Mouse we brought home. After discovering that the Minnie wouldn't play with her, the ginger girl Puppy quickly got bored and decided to go to sleep.

Poppy, Panda and Teddy loved dressing up in the disney hats and head bands we brought home and made the cutest Minnies and Mickey!

Happy Valentines day!!

The inspiration for my blog came from one of my favourite quotes: 'dogs are angels with paws' as this is what my dogs are to me. They love you unconditionally, are intensely loyal & can always cheer you up with a cuddle. Having one dog to share your life with is a blessing, and we are lucky enough to have 8 little buggers blessings at the moment!!

Being the loser that I am, when I saw this card in the shop, I couldn't resist getting it for our Cockapoos! The girl in the shop gave me a disapproving look as I paid for my 3 valentine's cards; I decided explaining one was for my mum, one for my 8 dogs, and (shockingly!) one for my boyfriend would only make the situation more embarrassing, so just smiled awkwardly at her.

The puppies wanted to celebrate their first Valentines Day with a love themed photo shoot...

First, they gave me me their cutest puppy dog eyes...

Then, these 2 cuties snuggled up for a cuddle...

This single puppy decided to eat the valentines napkin as a screw you valentines day gesture

And finally, Poppy & the black puppy showing their mother-daughter love in gorgeous pic!

♫ Eat Sleep Rave Repeat ♫

The puppies have a new found love for Calvin Harris' remix - Eat Sleep Rave Repeat - as it pretty much sums up their new daily routine...

Repeat!

As in most families, there's always the embarrassing parents who think they've still got it. When Poppy, Panda & Teddy were trying to get in on the rave action, Teddy got so carried away, he didn't even realise that he was showing off a little too much!

'Dogs never bite me - just humans' - Marilyn Monroe

I've always loved Marilyn Monroe's quote: 'Dogs never bite me - just humans'. However, at the moment it feels like all the puppies ever do is bite me, my mum, the older dogs, each other, our clothes, basically EVERYTHING!!
Instead of calling them puppies, we now call them the little gremlins, as it seems that they spend a large part of their time running around causing mayhem, and nibbling anything they can get their paws on.

We bought them some toys to help with the teething, which they are loving. However, Poppy and Panda are getting a bit jealous and keep stealing them!

The ginger girl puppy has become a bit of a daddy's girl recently, and has been enjoying leading a new game of chasing him up and down the hallway with the other little gremlins! She was not very impressed when he added a new dimension to their game by running up the stairs to get away from her!

When all the naughtiness eventually tires the puppies out, they cuddle up to have a nap looking like little angels.

When they are looking this cute, it's hard to believe only minutes ago they'd been behaving like this...
...Until about an hour later when they wake up and start all over again!!

Messy pups

Since we bought the play pen, the puppies have been naughtier than ever! It hasn't managed to keep them in at all, instead there seems to be a swarm of puppies all over the downstairs of the house! They now chase Panda and Teddy, who are absolutely terrified of them, especially Teddy when they try to feed from his non-existent boobies!!

Since escaping their bed in the kitchen, the puppies seem to be on a mission to steal as many things as they can. On her adventures, this little puppy has developed a taste for expensive scarves.

Whilst this little puppy is a lot more low maintenance, and seems to prefer the kitchen towel we used to soak up her wee!

One little puppy took the naughtiness to a whole other level this week. I keep finding him around my boots, and initially thought he had some kind of shoe fetish. However, his motives turned out to be a lot more mischievous. My job requires me to spend most of my time at our clients' offices. The client I am working on at the moment has recently decorated their entire office, and the room we are working in has deep plush carpet. When I got into work on Tuesday morning, I sat at my desk and noticed a brown trail behind me. When I looked at the bottom of my shoe, stuck between my heel was what I could only assume to be a little surprise left for me from shoe fetish puppy! He was clearly punishing me for going to work all day, and I learnt a valuable lesson - to never leave my shoes in the hallway! But with a face that cute, how could I be mad?!

Another valuable lesson I learnt this week, was not to play with puppies when I have tights on, at least not if I intend to wear them again!
